I'm not one to stick with one skin care routine, however, I do believe in stick with products and brands you love.

Hot Rollers
November 23, 2016I get asked all the time on how I style my hair and create the messy beach waves. Its hard for me to answer that because I'm sorta a product and tool whore. I use so many different products depending on what mood I'm in / what texture I want / or what smell I want. So here I'm sharing one of my new favorite gadgets - the T3 hot rollers.
Step 1: Blow dry hair (I'm not the best at this I literally look like I got electrocuted or as my husband likes to call me a Q-Tip. So theres no special way to blow dry - just make sure its dry.
* I usually put in a dime size of Biosilk Therapy in my damp hair before I blow dry
Step 2: Once dried start to put in the rollers. Start with the front of your hair where you part is and work the way back. I use the larger size on the top of head + smaller sized rollers on the side. Leave on for about 15 mins. This is the perfect time to start your makeup! Let the rollers heat up again and finish the rest of your hair.
* I have thick hair so I had to do my whole head in 2 steps.
Step 3: I use my curling rod to touch up and make a few pieces a little more tight or beachy.
Step 4: Spray some hairspray + spray a sea salt spray.
* This R+Co is one of my favs or I also like the Suave hairspray from target.
*Favorite sea salt spray by herbivore.
And voila you're done!

So I finally started my essential oil journey and I have Holly from Hollystic Beauty @hollysiticmagic is her insta to thank. I have been wanting to get started on essential oils for a while, but was so confused on where to start. I had so many questions like the obvious one - how do I use oils?
Holly was so nice and helpful- she started me out with the starter kit, which included Doterra essential oils in lavender, peppermint, and lemon. She also sent me fractionated coconut oil which is an all natural carrier oil that readily absorbs into the skin. I also shared some concerns- like what oil can help me with sore throat and better sleep. She sent me two samples of oils to help with both of this concerns. She is definitely my go to person for all of my oil needs.
Diffusing oils is probably the easiest way to use oils. In my diffuser which you can purchase here, I fill it up with water, add 2-3 drop of whatever oil I want to diffuse and then It just runs making the air smell amazing!
Some ways I have used my oils:
Lavender:
- Put 1-2 drop on my pillow before sleeping
-Apply with some bath salts to create a relaxing bath
- Apply to chap lips before using chap stick
- Add to my lotion to create a stress relieving hand massage
- I've also used this on a sunburn to help sooth my skin
Lemon:
- Add 1 drop to water
- Diffuse to neutralized any odor in the room
- Add 1 drop to honey to help with sore throat
- Also helps with mood elevation
Peppermint:
- Rub on stomach to help with an upset stomach
- Diffuse to help open sinuses and airways
- Apply with lavender on sore muscles
- Add to cold compress to cool off if overheating
Another girl who has helped me by creating a custom blend for me was Coco Lavish @coco_lavish on insta. I told her my concerns and she created me a beautiful essential oil blend- along with directions on use. She also creates her own natural deodorant that is amazing!!
Check out both of these girls amazing feeds - and if you have any essential oil questions ask them! They are so helpful and nice and can get you started with anything you might have concerns about!
I am excited to continue my essential oil journey and stay tuned as I build my collection and find out new ways to use the oils!

The Hidden Jewel (one of my favorite boutiques in Costa Mesa) just expanded apart of their shop into an organic beauty department by Devine Beauty Emporium . Let me just tell you it's definitely worth to check out in store. What I love most is everything is natural, organic + free of chemicals! Amazing right! Real talk - I have super sensitive skin and a lot of things make me break out. I think I might have a gluten allergy, but love bread way to much to give it up. This little beauty department inside the jewel has organic, hand crafter, gluten free, vegan friendly and cruelty free products. They are luxurious and decadent. LIFE CHANGING!
I'm all about skin care and I'm sorta a product junkie ( I just don't post too much beauty products-more to come on the blog going forward!) Anyway, I had to share a few items I scooped up and have been trying the past few weeks. I'm obsessed with anything rose scented. I use a rose water spray on the reg. One of my favs you can pick up here. Read more below, about the two new rose items I added into my collection.
1. Sweet Sisters - Rose Jojoba facial moisturizer
Why I love it: First thing - my skin glows and feels amazing! It has never felt so hydrated.
As stated on their website: Sweet Sisters hand are committed to using natural, wildcrafted, organic, naturally sourced, minimally processed and body-compatible ingredients that are safe for our bodies AND our planet, to create highly effective products that are only "tested" on willing family and friends. The packaging we use has been carefully considered for it's safety and environmental impact. Each bottle, tube and jar is inspired, formulated, hand blended and filled in our Whidbey Island studio.
2. Cee Cee & Bee - Renewing Rose Serum
Why I love it: This product is all about sensitive skin. I use this every morning after I wash my face - before I put on my makeup and before I go to bed.
As stated on their site: All products are designed with sensitive skin in mind. We handcraft our soaps the old fashioned way by the cold-processed method to keep oils at low temperatures and preserve every bit of skin-loving goodness. WE NEVER USE Sulfates, Parabens or Synthetic Ingredients. WE ALWAYS USE Sustainable, Natural and Organic ingredients. Ingredients are kept simple and sourced as close to San Diego as possible, with some coming from our very own organically grown herb garden.
3. Habit Nail Polish- Sweet Life Color
Why I love it: Why I love it: Habit naturally strengthens nails with Myrrh extract. Myrrh reinforces nails to give them more flexibility without the brittleness you get from chemical nail hardeners. Myrrh is also anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial and anti-fungal. Habit is vegan, cruelty-free, gluten-free and 5-free of Formaldehyde, Formaldehyde Resin, Toluene, Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP) and Camphor, and is made without animal testing. Habit is packaged as sustainably as possible. We are the only nail polish brand made with a bamboo overlap.
